Fake Fraud Department Scam

Keep your account safe. Be vigilant for ‘fraud department’ impersonation scams.

Scammers are constantly working to obtain your banking information and have resorted to impersonating financial institution fraud departments. If you receive a call from the "Cornerstone Community Financial Fraud Department" calling to verify unauthorized charges, take pause.

Important information to remember:

  • Cornerstone will NEVER contact you directly and ask for your account number, debit or credit card numbers or PIN, Social Security Number, or online/mobile account login information (user ID, password, security questions).

  • If you are contacted by phone or text by someone claiming to be from Cornerstone Fraud Department asking for your account information such as account number, password, username, or code/PIN, hang up the phone immediately, do not respond to any texts, and contact us directly to report the incident.

  • If you need to contact us regarding a potentially fraudulent message, never use the phone number provided by the caller. If it's a scam, then the phone number they provide may be masked or will not be accurate.

  • If you have mistakenly shared sensitive information, reach out to Cornerstone immediately so we can proactively take steps to protect your account.
